Clear Lake International Triathlon

Come join us for the 3rd Annual Clear Lake International Triathlon.
Directions to Clear Lake Park
Race Distances:

Olympic: 1.5 K Swim, 40 K Bike, 10 K Run Sprint.
Sprint: .5 K Swim, 20 K Bike, 5 K Run

Swim in Clear Lake, Bike a loop course crossing the Kemah Bridge and going past NASA back into transition, Run partly shaded course overlooking Clear Lake through Nassau Bay. 

RACE LOCATION

This International Triathlon will take place in Clear Lake, Texas (1/2 hour south of Houston) at Clear Lake Park. (Nasa Road 1, just east of Space Center Blvd.)
Directions: From I-45, take the Nasa Road One exit and head east approximately 6-7 miles. You will pass NASA Space Center and the Hilton. Cross Space Center Blvd with the lake on your right. Look for Clear Lake Park within 1/2 mile with parking on your left (swim and transition area on your right).

COURSE

Olympic Course: Swim 1.5 K (.93 miles) in Clear Lake with a triangular, clockwise course, bike 40K (24.8 miles) loop crossing Kemah Bridge with views of Clear Lake and NASA Space Center, run 10 K (6.2 Miles) out and back partially shaded course through Nassau Bay with views of Clear Lake.

Sprint Course: Swim .5 K (.31 miles) in Clear Lake with a triangular, clockwise course, Bike 20K (12.4 miles) loop crossing Kemah Bridge with views of Clear Lake and NASA, run 5 K (3.1 miles) through Nassau Bay.

AWARDS

Awards will be given to the overall Male and Female and overall Master's Male and Female. Age group awards will go at least 3 deep, utilizing USAT 5 year age group divisions. There will be Clydesdale (men over 200 lbs) and Athena (women over 150 lbs) divisions. Awards will go 3 deep in the relay categories.

ELITE DIVISION

There will be an elite division for the Olympic distance race. Elite Men and Women are eligible for Overall Awards and Elite Division only - They will not roll down into the age group divisions.

CHIP TIMING

We will provide chip timing with all split times, including transitions. The chip fees are included in your entry fees. Complete results will be available at www.runnertriathletenews.com and www.out-loud.org as soon as possible after the race.

ENTRY FEES

Field Limit is 800 for this year between the 2 races. Sign up early!

  • Early registration for Olympic entry is $75 for individuals and $100 for relays through July.

  • Regular registration for Olympic is $90 for individuals and $125 for relays from August 1st to August 27th or until race fills.

  • Early registration for Sprint is $55 for individuals through July.

  • Regular registration for Sprint is $65 from August 1-27 or until race fills.

NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION OR PACKET PICKUP-DON'T SIGN UP IF YOU CAN'T MAKE IT! An email response from signmeupsports is your entry confirmation.

NO REFUNDS OR TRANSFERS-PERIOD! Registration is available at packet pick-up if spots remain.

USA Triathlon Membership is separate, required, and may be purchased at packet pickup.

USA TRIATHLON FEES

This event will be USA Triathlon sanctioned. As a result, a USA Triathlon card must be presented at packet pickup BY the card holder. Annual memberships and one-day memberships may be purchased at packet pickup. One day fees are $10 and must be cash or check!!! Note: This is in addition to entry fee. DO NOT include membership fee with race fee. The USA Triathlon phone is 719-597-9090 w/ website: www.usatriathlon.org. All members of the relay need to be USAT members.

AID STATIONS

Aid stations will be available on each mile of the run. Stations will be provided at swim entry and exit points. Water, Gatorade, Hammer energy gels, and Endurolytes will be provided along the run course. A medical team will be on hand along with 2 ambulances throughout the day.

POST RACE PARTY

The White Top Pavilion will be the site of the post race party! Water, Vitamin Water, Gatorade, Soft Drinks, Hooter's Hot Wings, Pizza, Bagels, Cookies, and Fruit will be provided. There will be several Massage tables available for a quick rub-down after the race!

CHARITY TIE-INS AND VOLUNTEERS

Charities selected for benefiting from the Clear Lake Triathlon include:

  • Clear Lake Presbyterian Church Youth Program,
  • The Center for Student Missions
  • Local Boy Scout troops.
